Education comes not from book, but from practical experience

Nelson Mandela once said, education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Education is probably one of the most important thing in our society. But it is true that education comes not from book but from practical experience? I am totally agree with the statement above. I do agree with that statement because practical experiences give more effect towards studently compare only to the book.

Most of the newly graduates have good theoretical knowledge but unfortunately lack in practical experience and soft skills. We know that student are gain the knowledge through the book and learn the theory inside it. But actually practical seasons may give the student a lot of precious experiences compared learning through the book. For example, student in high school can apply the volunteer work when they are in another place after learning the Pendidikan Sivik dan Kewarganegaraan and Pendidikan Moral subject instead of only learn statically in classroom. Thus a student know and realized their responsibility to their race, religion and country.

In the other hand, goverment should introduce more practical season to the student whether in high school, all college in this country. So this experience alternative should apply to all college in Malaysia so that all graduates can succesfully applied there job immediately. In addition, interviewers easily look for three things which are theoretical knowledge, practical experience as well as soft skills. This can be proven that knowledge not solely from book.

In conclusion, we should realized that education comes not from book but instead come practical experiences. Practical experiences may improve in academic achievements, problem to solving skills, increse self esteem as well as for the other country in this world. Goverment should introduce more practical equipment and session to the students.

  2.  As a result, only when students apply the skills or knowledge they learned in a practical setting such as swimming laps or doing math problems can these skills truly be learned and valued.
In contrast, some subjects must be learned from reading books, and with no practical experience. In many college classrooms World History courses aim to teach students the contributions of Ancient civilization. For example, reading the books and primary sources can give chances for students to give own interpretation of the material. By doing so, students can actively engage with the material and start thoughtful discussions. Likewise, history books compared to other subjects are well written with thorough revision in order to suit the audience of the text. A trip to museum on ancient civilizations is very limiting because there are only specific exhibits. Without background reading and knowledge it is meaningless. Thus in study of history , it  is often times better to gain knowledge from books rather than practical experiences, because there is more room for interpretation.
All in all, educators must be holistic in their approach to education and gain a fine balance as to when students should be educated through books or practical experience. Thus whether or not an education is gained from practical experience or books is circumstantial. For skill based professions such as Medicine, practical experience provides a better education by applying knowledge to real life situations and thus learn skills with practice.

  3. From my opinion, the first step in the process of learning is to read and study subject matters through the use of books. Books are a set of printed works and collections of illustrations that can either be produced in electronic form or on sheets of paper. A book can refer to works of literature like War and Peace or the Count of Monte Cristo or biographies that tell a story about a person’s life. A text book is usually used to convey subject matter to students studying a particular topic. It is found that in most subjects such as mathematics, literature and history, the use of books greatly improves the way the material is learnt and also best serves the purpose of teaching.education is part of the process of learning which takes place through the use of books, practical experience and observation. Education in the 21st century has become technological and innovative, both in the manner in which it is presented and the way in which it is applied. Various tools and systems make learning easy and affordable for many students in the 21st century. so,as a result students and academics have come to realize the need for an open minded approach toward learning.

  4. Nowadays, people are more prefer learning from practical experience besides books. The mainstream why people are used to prefer practical experience than books is, books are bored. It does not mean that books are not important in education, books is important in education. One of the roles of books is to fix the changes in practical experience in future. But the advantage of practical experience is increase the way of thinking skills and working skills. Moreover, practical experience are easy to understand and to be applied. But, books can give a lot of imagination and point of view towards readers. So, in my opinion, books and practical experience are two important things that used in education.

  5. In my opinion, i think education not just come from book, it come from experience. Because experience make us mature. From practical experience we can learn much in our daily life. Sometimes not everything we can learn from book. We must feel it first, so we can get experience from it. But its not mean that the book not important for education but if just read book we will bored. Books are still important, without books, practical experience will not come. It is true education comes from practical experience, but practical experience majorly comes from the books. We maybe will did not realized it, so the conclusion is books and practical experience must be balanced.
